The IRS is Forcing All Tax Pros to Have a WISP

On August 9th, 2022 the IRS and Security Summit have issued new requirements that all tax preparers must have a written information security plan, or WISP.

“There's no way around it for anyone running a tax business. Having a written security plan is a sound business practice – and it's required by law, said Jared Ballew of Drake Software, co-lead for the Summit tax professional team and incoming chair of the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC)."

Putting together a compliant WISP can be an uphill battle, and to assist, we have partnered with Tech 4 Accountants who have created a free template that you can use and fill out with details regarding your own firm. On average, the template saves between 15-20 hours of work one would have to do without it.
