Black lives matter. What each of us does to confront racism and prejudice in its many forms, including within ourselves and our organizations, matters. We are committed to anti-racism and equality, and we stand with the Black members of our communities and beyond. The events in Minneapolis and throughout the country over the past week have shone a spotlight on the longstanding racial injustice in the United States. The unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery and many others are painful reminders of the systemic racism faced by the Black community throughout the entire history of our country and around the world. The time is long overdue for each and every one of us to own up to our collective and personal responsibility in perpetuating a culture of inequality, discrimination, and oppression.
We believe in a level playing field, with equal opportunity and legal safeguards to ensure fairness. To combat this issue and build a better future for all, we must use our voices and platforms to create change. Words are only the beginning. We all must act now and continue to do so. We cannot change the actions of our past, but we can all aim to be better going forward. We can educate ourselves, listen to others, and work together for a better, more just future. Join us in standing with our employees, customers, friends, and communities as we continue to fight against hate, prejudice, and discrimination.
